My experience in Shu restaurant on 15th of February was awful to say the least.
The staff that took our orders didn't know anything about their food.
She took our orders and forgot totally about us and was serving other people. When our orders finally came, it didn't come with serving spoons and plates. After waiting for another 20-25minutes , but partner went down to complain and that was when they brought the spoons and plate.
The drinks we ordered took ages, and then another staff came to complain they didn't have ice.
The dumplings I ordered first, didn't arrive but they put it in our bills . Thank God we noticed.
Was the foods worth of the stress we went through, it didn't at all.
This is my first and last time here.
i’m on a verge of trying different asian restaurants in Lagos and i most say, Shu is a place you wanna be. Their food looks so nice and delicious… I finally found a place that serves chicken dumplings seems we have more pork dumplings than chicken in Lagos.
Ambience is beautiful. The waiters are nice and friendly with a few mistakes but nothing serious. The food is good. The tiger prawn was the most delicious thing we had. The fried rice was decent and the beef sauce was good as well but there’s room for improvement. I also had the chicken dumplings and the prawn and mayo spring roll which were quite nice.
The sweetcorn dessert was interesting (please eat it hot or you’ll hate yourself). I didn’t care much for the drinks, the milkshake was good but the cocktail was mid at best.
Had a lovely night and I might be back for that tiger prawn.
I gave the atmosphere 4 stars instead of 5 because the place was quite hot 🥵 as the AC wasn’t circulating well.
That said, the environment is really beautiful and calm. I absolutely loved the chandeliers, especially the one that looked like hanging tabs with Chinese writings on them 🫠 so unique and eye-catching 👍🏾 (forgot to take a picture)
The food was absolutely delicious, especially the rice,it tasted so good🤤🤤🤤
The food was amazing, customer service top notch and the ambience was great too.
My only concern was with the tax! 17.5% tax on food.
I think 7.5 for vat, 5% service fee and 5% convenience tax or something. I found it ridiculous.
Overall the food was worth the price and a big shout out to the customer care, they were amazing!👏
I recommend you go in a group setting as the portion size is good.
