kaly Restaurant in Victoria Island continues to impress with its vibrant ambiance, excellent service, and delicious meals. Having dined here three times, I can confidently say it’s a spot worth revisiting. From the moment you arrive, the receptionists and usher ladies welcome you warmly, ensuring a pleasant start to your experience.
The food remains a major highlight. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and juicy. The beef shawarma was also a hit, with well-balanced spices and a satisfying portion. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a stylish and colorful setup that enhances the dining experience. For those who enjoy a drink, there’s also an outdoor option, which adds to the variety of choices available.
Parking is convenient, with ample space for guests, and an often-overlooked detail—the restroom—was spotless and well-maintained. One minor improvement could be their reservation policy. While it’s great to have a system in place, the restaurant wasn’t full during our visit, so a more flexible approach would be appreciated.
Overall, Kaly Restaurant delivers on quality, ambiance, and service. Having been there thrice, I’ll definitely be back for another great experience.
We recently dined at a restaurant called Kaly—spelled K-A-L-Y—in the heart of Victoria Island, and I must say, the interior design was stunning. The space was beautifully lit and thoughtfully designed, creating an inviting atmosphere.
We were seated and given the menu, and I was particularly excited to try the smoked herbal salmon, as I had read great reviews. My friend opted for the chicken with some sauces—I’m not entirely sure of the details, but there was definitely chicken involved. I’ll be sharing pictures in the review, so keep an eye out for those.
We started with drinks: I had a passion fruit cocktail, which turned out to be a bit too strong, with the flavor getting lost in the alcohol. I’m not usually into overly strong drinks and would have preferred a more balanced flavor. My friend’s apple mocktail also missed the mark; it was mostly foam with just a hint of apple juice and lime, leaving her quite disappointed.
On to the food: my smoked salmon was quite good, although the sauce did become a bit overwhelming after a few bites. My friend’s chicken dish, however, was a highlight—tender and flavorful, paired with delicious fries.
I must commend Kaly on their excellent service. The waitstaff were attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. A special shout-out goes to the staff member in the bathroom—Blessed, I believe—who went above and beyond by helping us take some great pictures. Her assistance was greatly appreciated.
Overall, Kaly offers a chic setting with a few areas for improvement. Despite some hiccups, it was a pleasant dining experience and definitely worth a visit.
I should say, one of the best restaurant in Victoria Island. Interior is amazing and the view from the restaurant. Very classy and cozy restaurant.
Service is good. And food is amazing.
Ambience: Top-Tier! Fine Dining material. It’s the perfect place to impress your date. It’s open, spacious and pretty private as tables aren’t clustered. The songs playing in the background really set the mood for a lovely date.
Waiting time: Pretty decent, the starters were served instantly and it wasn’t really a long wait for the main course and dessert.
Food Quality: The first disappointment I had was not being able to pick my preferred food choice from the menu (only certain meals are available at certain times of the day). I wanted pasta but I ended up going with the Wagyu Burger; which was not as tasteful as I anticipated. However, they redeemed my impression of their dishes with the chocolate fondant dessert. It was absolutely delightful! I highly recommend it for chocolate lovers!
Pricing: The price range at this restaurant is definitely on the high side. Come with your pockets full.
Overall, you will enjoy the finer things of life whenever you’re at this restaurant!
As far as fine dining goes, this is probably close to as good as it can get in Nigeria. Service is excellent and ambience and location is flawless. However, be ready to spend a literal fortune and risk still not being really full. If you want drinks then you will spend two fortunes. Food is probably good - I'm not a fine dining person so good isn't really my style.
There were three birthday celebrations going on when I went. I think there are four classes of people that will generally visit here. People on a work outing with the office paying, people celebrating their birthday and wanting to give themselves a once in a year very expensive treat, older people that have made loads of money and want to enjoy the fruit of their decades of work and younger people that have too much money because they are entertainers or living off parents.
