Very nice and satisfying food. They just need a bigger indoor space, it's uncomfortable if you're tall.
And staff should pay more attention to the service, waited long for my bill.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.
To start off they only have 4 tables inside the whole restaurant, the seating area is terrible also as you are so close to other tables. The AC did not even work so you can only imagine how warm it was whilst we waiting. The menu did not have half of the things shown & the waiter failed to mention this when we were placing our orders. The service was terribly slow, we waiting over an hour for our food to arrive. When the food came out, it came out without protein, the manager advised protein would follow in 20 minutes when the protein is clearly meant to be in the stew. The food finally came out after a whole hour of waiting:
The staff were quite dismissive, did not have clear knowledge of the menu or the drinks menu & all clearly overworked, sweating viciously.
The food was presented well however whilst eating it me and my friends quickly noticed there was an off smell, the meat was not properly cooked and the pounded yam was incredibly hard.
We told staff and left after paying our bill. Long story short we have all been on the toilet for HOURS. I would NOT recommend & save yourself the stomach pains. It’s so bad.
Amazing little gem of a eatery.. packs a punch with the food and its presentation, it's got both outdoor and air-conditioned indoor seating.
The taste they say is in the pudding, this tastes as good as it looks, including wooden bowl and cups for a total native aba fee. The waiters are traditionally attired to further complement the presentation,
The service was also very fast. Within 20 minutes of being seated, I was being served.
However, there are subtle shortcomings that's dropped a star and that the organisation needs to note. My food was not hot enough. I had to send it back for in to be warmed... which was promptly done.
I opted for Tiger nut drink and to my amazement, there drink, although Ile Iyan branded, but has no list of ingredient, I believe this is essential both for health and safety and for allergy checks. As could be seen in the pictures...it did not even indicate this was Tiger nut drink, except they told you so!
I will still visit next time I'm nearby and will update the review and rating.
I had been hearing about Ile Iyan in Lekki, with their horse back riding options and welcoming Yoruba music. It was truly something out of Lagos, an experience to definitely be had. The service was completely wack, same as what you would get at a regular owambe as the waitresses all seemed confused and extremely busy. The food, was really good and definitely worth it. I sat outside right in front of a fan but that’s didn’t help much cos the weather was so hot! I’ll probably order take out next time.
