A new addition to the plethora of QSRs along the famous and frenetic Admiralty Way, Lekki.
The exterior is quite visually appealing and conspicuous, however the interior is grossly ordinary.
Expect the usual presentation of varied meals and proteins in full display in show glasses, typical of Naija meal restaurants in Lagos, where the service philosophy leans more towards quick service than a culinary experience.
Pastries and bread are sold here too. There are two levels of seating, but I didn’t go upstairs - I believe there’s a bar there.
Summary of experience.
Highs:
✅ Easy to locate and access.
✅ Crisp art-deco exterior.
✅ Convenient parking for about 12 cars.
✅ Meal was tastier than expected (7/10).
✅ Convenience is spacious and air-conditioned.
Lows:
❌ Poor value for money; overpriced meals.
❌ Service is mediocre; staff seem confused and simple items like serviettes were not adequate…and of very poor quality.
❌ Convenience is not fully sealed off from restaurant floor. This design is obviously to enable the AC from the floor reach the convenience. However, this will also enable unpleasant smells emanate.
❌ Sinks for washing hands on the restaurant floor are not clean. You will find food particles all over; very unsightly.
❌ Seats are not comfortable; poor ergonomics.
❌ Lights and sound trip off when power cuts off, this can be easily fixed with an inverter.
Summarily, Ibile Foods is a convenient option to grab a meal - especially considering that it is situated along a major road and thus very easy to access.
However, the value is not commensurate with the prices for their meals.
Behind this modern packaged building and restaurant is a rich local styled restaurant that has “Akanke” written all over. But the attendant said it’s same place (Ibile).
I went there only to drink palm wine coz the name suggested they would sell such.
To my chagrin a keg is sold at N8,000 hello…? When I bought same keg N4,000 at Ilason by Chisco bus stop. I just took a cup which they gave me at N1,500. It took about 30mins to get to me though the attendant claimed it was due to he couldn’t find the key to the store on time 🤷🏽♂️
I was only there to drink palm wine so I didn’t get to look at their menu. But it sure seems like a place that would have all Yoruba menus covered.
But this one they sell a keg of palm wine at 8k, I wonder how much their food would be? Might go again and find out.
I wonder how this place got a 5 star review I was in Nigeria about 3 weeks ago and went to this restaurant with my friend.
I bought Amala gbegirl and ewedu whilst my friend got eba and bitter leaf soup.
To my surpise halfway into our food, my friend found a cockcroach in her food, that was the end of the 50k+ food we bought.
The amala stew was smelling of ginger, The food was nothing to write home about at all.
I hope the management do better.. SMH
It's getting a 2 star from me simply because of the ambience.
Very badly behaved staff especially the bar man that I am about to share his picture here. This man was badly behaved, very rude, stinking attitude and not the manager not the HR could. Apologize or say anything to me.
If you are going to employ staff, you have to be ready to train them.
You don’t have any rude attitude to customers that patronize your business. For a new business, staffing is terrible.
I will not be going here any longer because I wasn’t impressed at all.
Best of the QSR in Lekki 1. Very well designed interior. Staff pleasant and great customer service. And to top it all, the food is very tasty. Very well done
