Bungalow Restaurant Ikeja offers an impressive mix of Nigerian, Mexican, Lebanese, and Japanese cuisines in a stylish setting. There’s the outdoor and indoor space, and the ambiance is cozy, with excellent service. I had their chocolate milkshake and it was so good that I had a full body shake on first sip.
I commend the staff that served us. She almost ruined it when she asked for a tip. She got the tip after all.
The noodles I had were so yummy that would have asked for another bowl. For the cookies and cream, I would say a 6 because I have had better ones. It looked flat.
We had hummus, nachos, calamari and a bottle of wine.
Hummus was creamy and came with pita and a side of vegetables (cucumbers, pickles, onions etc.) The pickles were the best pairing (for me).
Nachos with an overload of cheese, some guacamole and yogurt on the side. This is pretty filling if you're having it by yourself. Definitely a starter meant to be shared.
Calamari wasn't mushy (thank goodness). It had some bite to it and went really well with the onions and yogurt from the previous dishes.
The wine was good. However I was disappointed when it came time to pay. On the restaurant's menu, the wine was listed for 14k but I was billed 18k. That didn't serve as a good end to what had been a great visit. So please clarify with your waiter that the prices on the menu are the prices you'll be billed.
This place has so much potentials to become more! The food is great and comes out fast, the service is questionable as it would be nice if waiters do routine checks on guests to see if they need anything instead of leaving for long periods. Guests sometimes have to stand to get their attention and with the way the restaurant is set up, it’s quite easy to lose track.
Again, the food is great! And not very expensive. There’s an indoor and outdoor bar (better in the evenings due to the sun).
One of the best restaurants we have been to in Ikeja. The service is quick and friendly and the food decent. Sitting outside is really how you to do it there, as the inside is very smelly from the cigarette smoke. Yes, smoking is allowed inside unfortunately. A plus is, that the owner is extremely friendly and they offer catering service for airplanes and homes. The prices are also decent. It will probably become one of our favorite spots when in Ikeja.
