Wonderful atmosphere and environment. I loved how chill it was really. The only issue was that the food really took a while to make. So be prepared to wait. And they couldn't make fruit juice because there was no "electricity" then. Well took a very long time of demand for them to put on the gen and make the juice. Overall it's a quiet place in the late mornings/early afternoons. (THIS Doesn't COVER NIGHT'S AS I Didn't GO AT NIGHT).
My experience at Village Chief Restaurant was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I stepped in, the welcoming vibe and traditional decor made me feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy authentic local cuisine, and they truly deliver on taste and quality.
I had their tasty local soups with fufu, and every bite was a burst of flavor—rich, well-prepared, and clearly made with love. The highlight for me was their palm wine—it was fresh, smooth, and the perfect complement to the meal. And the best part? The prices are so affordable, making it an ideal spot for date nights or even casual outings without stretching your wallet.
If you’re looking for a place to enjoy incredible local dishes in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, Village Chief Restaurant is the place to be. I’ll definitely be going back for more!
I’ve always loved this spot. My favorite spot in Abuja.
The smell at the entrance can be a bit off putting, but the food and vibe make up for it.
The only thing I don’t like is there isn’t consistency when food is ordered for pickup. It is better to eat in, that’s something to work on. Other than that, it’s always been lovely here. I’ve been here with everyone I love.
It was a wonderful experience. I love the traditional feel. My friend and I almost ordered everything on the menu . The quality is so good for the price. We even had to take out
Overall, awesome place, best Arabian tea and barbecue fish (Ibro fish section). They however either need more staff or need to better train the staff to learn to look out for customers needing help or attention. It is such an uphill task getting a staff to take your order or to bring the bill...they don't even look in your direction, so you can't even beckon on them. You end up either screaming like a tout or walking up to find them to be attended to. Also, parking is still such a chore
