I visited The Charcoal Grill to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and while I had high expectations, the experience fell a bit short. The ambiance was lovely and the staff were polite, but unfortunately, the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed, which significantly delayed our order — we waited close to an hour for our food.
When the food finally arrived, it didn’t quite meet the standard I anticipated. The flavors were underwhelming, and the presentation lacked the polish I had seen in reviews. We also ordered milkshakes, cappuccino, and hot chocolate, but they all turned out quite watery, lacking the rich, creamy texture you’d expect from a place like this.
I understand that staffing challenges can happen, especially during busy periods, but I do hope management can improve consistency in food quality and service speed. It’s a beautiful space with a lot of potential, and I’d be open to giving it another try in the future if these issues are addressed.
Lovely place in a strategic location. Map is accurate. Food is the really nice and prices are fair.
I was particularly impressed that they kept to time for a reservation, food was ready at the time we gave them.
The staff are very courteous and swift.
Great tasting cocktails also.
It was an amazing experience! The food was delicious and they prepared it quickly which I appreciated cause I had an hour of my break and needed to eat and get back within that timeframe.
The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and a bit private. The prices were affordable even with the price hike, and the service was exceptional! I highly recommend visiting the Charcoal Grill!
Quiet place when I was there you can pop in for coffee, I like the view from the windows upstairs. The Mackerel Eforiro was perfect with yam. Server was attentive and foos presented well. Watch out for the steep stair entrance. Unsuitable for heels or those with mobility issues.
Read some good reviews and so decided to try it out. Ordered the chef salad which was supposed to come with feta cheese but Not! It was subbed with shredded mozzarella and between the waiter and the chef, not one thought to inform the guest that there was no Feta cheese.
Next was the spring rolls...well let's say the local version as there was nothing springy about it. Texture was "doughy" and sweet as opposed to being flaky (filo dough) and with a springy crunch on the bite. Well suffice to say I returned the chef salad and paid for the rolls and my drink.
I'm sure they do some things well but on this first visit here I'm disappointed. Will see what happens next try.
Recommend though but "grill" the waiter and chef about your order. Pun intended.
