I visited this restaurant and had a great experience. The ice cream was really nice—creamy and delicious. I also enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara with bacon; it was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The food was fresh, and the portions were generous.
The restaurant has a unique style, with its black-and-white theme. The walls are painted in simple black and white, giving it a clean and modern look. The decor is minimal but stylish, making the place feel calm and relaxing. It’s a nice spot to enjoy a meal without feeling overwhelmed by too much color or noise.
The staff were friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The menu has a good variety of options, from snacks to full meals, so there’s something for everyone. Prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food makes it worth it.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty food in a simple, stylish setting. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!
The concept behind Sketch Cafe is a brilliant one. From the name comes the design of the place and it’ll make you feel like you’re in a 2D drawing or a newspaper even. The restaurant is remarkable for its design, spacious inside with different compartments which can offer you privacy. Neat restrooms and surroundings. Attentive restaurant attendants and good customer service. I guess the primary reason for a restaurant is the meal itself and if you’ve noticed, I’ve said little or none there. That’s because as at the time I visited, the menu seems really confusing and limiting. Couldn’t find what to it. Ended up with chicken wings and yam fries which tasted nice. Was promised a menu upgrade and hopefully that has been installed. Generally speaking, it’s a good place to visit. There are other interesting things going on in the environment.
Lagos Bistro, Sketch and Amazonia are part of a chain of restaurants owned by a beautiful couple. The interesting thing about these restaurants is that they are all located in the same compound, talk about intra-competition. This compound also houses a digital museum which is fantastic. Well that’s not the reason I’m here.
Decor: 7/10
Need I say, it’s one of those locations you wonder how the idea was created. Sketch as the name implies plays with the colours white and black which gives a fun loving person the urge to get crayons to start painting the walls and roof.
Age is beginning to tell but overall good and unique concept
Food: 4/10
I ordered the pineapple rice which comes with oyster sauce. I found the flavours overwhelming especially the sauce. Sometimes too much is too much. Considering the rice had lots of flavours, the sauce could have been a little down played.
The bright side was I complained and the chef made an attempt to rework the sauce. I guess at this point, it was just the effort that mattered
Drink : 4/10
If you guys know me, you’d probably know cocktails aren’t my favourite thing because I feel it’s just an overpriced mixture .
Again, the cocktail was just a good picture.
Service: 7/10
Anyways. The waiters are professional and polite. A part of me prays someone buys this cake because I felt the waiter may have more coming for him.
Other comment
I requested for a slice of red velvet cake, which I wanted to use as dessert. After that meal, I asked the waiter not to bother with the cake anymore but imagine my surprise when she said she’s punched it into the machine and I have to pay…. Really!!!!
Of course I insisted because it wasn’t like you brought the cake to me at any point neither was it baked for me, it was one of those cakes displayed on the stand and yes I’m allowed to change my mind.
Sketch is an experience everyone should have. From the entrance we were welcomed so well and ushered to our seats. Stephen served us and he was so pleasant, the meal was really awesome. It was overall a wonderful experience. Wear a pop of color so you can stand out when taking pictures, if you're a fan of pictures.
The menu options were varied and a bit pricy for the portions, and you're constrained to certain combinations. The order was available in good time and the waiter, Elijah, was courteous and helpful. The Green Splash fruit juice was great and refreshing. You need to try it.
The cashier's insistence on not taking selfies until orders were made is unnecessarily "loud".
