I had my intimate birthday dinner here with my sister, so you can imagine how excited I was. Sadly, that excitement was cut short.
I had planned to order pasta, but several of the options I wanted weren’t available that day. We decided instead to share a 300g rib-eye steak with sides, thinking it would be enough for two. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. My sister’s mashed potatoes tasted off, and she couldn’t finish them, though my potato wedges were good. The steak itself was… underwhelming, to say the least.
When I mentioned to the wait staff that the portion seemed too small for two people, and much less than the 300g stated on the menu at ₦57k, I was told that “this is the size of 250g.” I reminded her that we ordered 300g, and I do know what 300g looks like. It was disappointing.
Another letdown was the no-pictures policy. I understand that some restaurants prefer this, but when we stood in an empty space downstairs to take a quick photo before leaving, we were rushed away rather harshly. It didn’t feel right, especially as paying guests who had just dined there.
On the bright side, their dessert was top-notch, though it took a while to arrive. The cocktails were also really good. The ambience is cool and welcoming, and the staff were otherwise polite and helpful. But overall, the portions are very small for the price. Personally, I’d rather see them increase both the prices and the portions than serve tiny meals at premium rates.
I really wanted this to be a place I’d come back to again and again, somewhere that felt like home. Sadly, it just wasn’t that for me.
I had high hopes for this place but left disappointed. The music was excessively loud during my visit, which ruined the ambience. As for the food, it was underwhelming. The calamari and tozo sliders were just average, while the lamb koftas tasted off and had to be sent back. On a brighter note, I did enjoy a cocktail, but the experience was soured when the staff attempted to upcharge me, claiming the price in their system was higher than what was listed on the menu I was given. I insisted on paying the menu price, but the incident left a bad impression. To top it off, it took nearly 30 minutes for the staff to finalize the bill and process payment. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
I chose this restaurant for my Birthday celebration and I am happy! Very nice new and cozy place. All the staff are very kind and ready to help. Modern style thought out to the smallest detail. Each dish is a work of art, the combination of flavors is blissful. Thanks a lot to the Chef!❤️
If you're into wine, then this is the perfect spot for you. The ambience is calm, exquisite and the staff are polite and proper. It's a beautiful place for fine dining and business meetings.
The Liquid Hub is a unique place located within the Diplomatic Village. It is home to a café, bar, fine dining restaurant and a private member's only club.
I recently saw stopped by with my friends for some wine and small bites at the bar so an interesting thing the bar has different menu from the restaurant called the Hubites menu. We had the Meat Platter ₦45,000 which had lamb, chicken wings, sausages and short ribs. In terms of portion size, the platter was quite small and there needs to be improvement in terms of flavour. We had sides of fries, plantain fries and jollof rice.
For drinks, we had a delicious Italian Primotivo which was quite stunning and it was served aerated. The bottle was ₦50,000.
The service was absolutely impeccable and that was the best part of my experience. I would be back to try out their fine dining menu.
