I’ve always ordered for Delivery so this is my first time coming here. It’s alright I guess but other places seem better organized and better stocked. I was worried about hygiene and food handling just because of the elaborate process it takes to get your cookie or sausage roll. Like 3 or 4 staff handle it before it gets to you. I found that a little repulsive then I remembered that I always order takeaway and never know how many people handle my food. So, I guess it’s average in hygiene. Price is a little high also compared to other places within a mile of this place. But pricing is their prerogative. The flavor cookie I came for wasn’t available either so had to make do with what they had.

This is one of a kind cafe, I was blown away with the decor and it has a cozy embrace to it. I enjoy spending time here, this is the real definition of home away from home. Looking for a spot to relax, date or a quiet and serene place look no forward, you have found the spot. The snacks are mouthwatering, if I wasn’t on a strict diet I would have lose my home training, even if sometimes I do lose it(please let my gym instructors not see this). For my bookish lovers you will love this spot. This is my new lala-land, my fiction space.

Ambience is a 100 especially if you’re sitting inside, it’s very comfortable and calm. I’ll give the food an 80 because it was not well made and I guess that was because of the rush, I had the shepherd’s pie. Customer service was a turn off for me…there was just one lady attending to everyone and she lacked basic communication skills. We placed an order for a starter that apparently wasn’t available and she didn’t say so until we asked 30minutes later why our starter wasn’t available then she said it was available. They were short on staff when I went there so i waited for over an hour before I got my order and there was no follow-ups to calm me while I wait.

The Milk shop & Agege Burger, Abuja. In my last post about cafe flour, i mentioned ‘sizzling hot new spot’. Well, this spot is one! The milk shop & Agege burger are two incredible food vendors that have existed for quite some time now. Agege Burger was an online food vendor that Launched back in 2020. The milk shop however existed before 2020 and they had a restaurant/cafe at Kampala street. I noticed the collaborative space/efforts sometime in January and i got super excited because i already knew that it was going to be awesome. The cafe/restaurant is located at Left annex, Maitama amuesement park Abuja, Nigeria. It is right next to Mambaah cafe. Although they are still running a soft opening, i just had to check it out. I tried out food and drinks from the milk shop, but i wasn’t able to try anything from agege burger. I look forward to doing so next time. Here’s a full review of the shared space and the food and drinks at the milk shop. Ambience BLOWN!!!! i was absolutely blown away by the ambience. It looks like something straight out of a movie. On approaching the space, it looks very surreal. It is a small and cozy place made of see through glass which is covered by a shed naturally created by trees. Walking into the cafe there’s a cement walkway amidst the gravel stones which cover the floor. It is beautifully decorated with cane and wood furniture. The most incredibly creative thing about the space is the ceiling. it is not your regular PVC ceiling, rather it is made up of creative items carefully utilized to give an artistic look to the space. The space is calm, very serene and has a relaxing vibe to it. It is a great space to sit, have a cup of coffee or 5, get some work done, read a book, a tea party or book club meeting. I am absolutely in love with this space. The combination of contemporary, modern, artistic and outdoor designs is definitely a hit. Food The milk shop is still running a soft opening so there was no physical menu available. The had a little display board with a few pastries listed and some on display. I already knew about the famous chicken pot pie so i went ahead to order it and a brownie that was on display. Smoked Chicken pot pie – NGN3,500 The smoked chicken pot pie took about 40 minutes to get ready but it was really worth the wait. It was served with a slice of diagonally cut toast bread. When the pot pie was served, it was really smoking! It had a crisp crust which reveals a hot savory chicken filling. After breaking through the crust i literally had to wait for it to cool down a bit before eating. It was very tasty and satisfying. It tasted like fresh out of the oven chicken pie but in a pot…lol. The pie filling was not too spicy. It was rich and very creamy. The bread paired with the pie was just perfect and it was all round an amazing dish. I’m so glad to know that they have been able to maintain their pot pie standards all these years. Brownie with homemade ice cream – NGN2,200 After the tasty smoked chicken pot pie, i just had to have something sweet to balance it out. The brownies costs NGN1,000 and an additional N1,200 is added when served with homemade ice cream and syrup. At first i honestly thought the brownie was way too small for N1,000 but after my first bite i realized why it cost so much. As small as it was, it was hard to finish it all because it was so satisfying. It was extremely fudgy! Literally the most fudgy brownies i have ever had. I’m not so sure i liked the homemade ice cream though. It was really icy or sweet, it tasted like whipped cream. Drinks There wasn’t really and drink menu available, we just asked for what the had and they told us ice tea and caramel frappe. Caramel Frappe – NGN2,500 The caramel frappe was beautifully served. Although it was beautiful, it didn’t really hit the right notes. It was very sweet and i could barely taste the caramel or coffee in it. It was an ok drink but it could have definitely been better. Earl grey iced tea – NGN1,500 *To the full blog post and more reviews check out rukkyambursa.com *

Recently visited The Milk Shop and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee was great (my doppio had the best crema I’ve seen in a while, a rich foam head that was just visually satisfying) and they make the most flavorful pastries from their on-site ovens. I especially enjoyed the scones with jam and the pies are a hit in my house. You can taste the care with which they craft their meal! Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend The Milk Shop to anyone looking for a decadent and delicious cup of coffee.
