Had Tuwo and Amala with a friend, and honestly, I was in food heaven. The stew delivered perfectly rich, well-fried, and absolutely delicious. The meats were tender and flavorful. A solid 10/10.
By the way, I’ve been back a couple of times since.
Visited the amala corner at the back. It's definitely one of the best spots for amala on the island. You get a quality amala meal for the money you spend. I highly recommend. I came back to edit this because there was a band there that was quite embarrassing, they kept trying to solicit funds, meanwhile I'm sure people just want to enjoy their meal and leave.
This is a very interesting restaurant I must say. Enough sitting area, good parking space for the location at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos state.
For the location, meals here are relatively cheap and sumptuous. No funny flavors or spices, just natural ut classy. They have different meals here for your selection and taste buds. I had a good time and here 2 days ago and I am back again for lunch. Neat restaurant
A new addition to the plethora of QSRs along the famous and frenetic Admiralty Way, Lekki.
The exterior is quite visually appealing and conspicuous, however the interior is grossly ordinary.
Expect the usual presentation of varied meals and proteins in full display in show glasses, typical of Naija meal restaurants in Lagos, where the service philosophy leans more towards quick service than a culinary experience.
Pastries and bread are sold here too. There are two levels of seating, but I didn’t go upstairs - I believe there’s a bar there.
Summary of experience.
Highs:
✅ Easy to locate and access.
✅ Crisp art-deco exterior.
✅ Convenient parking for about 12 cars.
✅ Meal was tastier than expected (7/10).
✅ Convenience is spacious and air-conditioned.
Lows:
❌ Poor value for money; overpriced meals.
❌ Service is mediocre; staff seem confused and simple items like serviettes were not adequate…and of very poor quality.
❌ Convenience is not fully sealed off from restaurant floor. This design is obviously to enable the AC from the floor reach the convenience. However, this will also enable unpleasant smells emanate.
❌ Sinks for washing hands on the restaurant floor are not clean. You will find food particles all over; very unsightly.
❌ Seats are not comfortable; poor ergonomics.
❌ Lights and sound trip off when power cuts off, this can be easily fixed with an inverter.
Summarily, Ibile Foods is a convenient option to grab a meal - especially considering that it is situated along a major road and thus very easy to access.
However, the value is not commensurate with the prices for their meals.
The food I got when I went there as spoiled. My sister got fried rice take away by the time we got home 4hours later it’s off. Amala I got was off, I pooed my life out (6 times) before the next morning. Will I be here again no..
