THE HOUSE (Lagos)

Came here on my holiday with a group of my friends. The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff were. I loved the food and drinks. ESPECIALLY the drinks, their attention to detail is unmatched. Sadly I stay in Abuja, can’t wait to come back to Lagos so I can go there again

Every time I visit, there is something new and exciting about the ambience, yet they have maintained service, and food is still as great as ever.

We went here for dinner with friends and I really wanted to like it so badly because I like their other restaurant but it was just not it. We had called earlier and they mentioned they had a backlog in the kitchen but it should have cleared up by the time we got there. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. We waited for two hours before our food arrived. Heck, drinks took forever to come as well and the cocktails were terrible. The starters (fries) were the last thing to arrive. What pained me the most is that when the food finally came, it wasn’t even hot so I’m wondering what they were doing with our food in the kitchen. We were so overwhelmed that we had to get the food packed. I wish they had communicated much appropriately and said from the beginning that they were having issues. Oh, while we sat there waiting for our food someone decided to shoot a gun in front of the restaurant. We expected they would at least close their gate but they didn’t seemed fazed by it at all which was disturbing.

I had visited once with friends at night, but it didn’t feel like an actual experience. So, I went back there today with my partner and the manager took us round, it was an amazing experience. If you love cozy, warm and private, the house is definitely the place to be. It was dark inside, so we couldn’t take photos inside. Every room was a total experience and it had this intimate feel. You can literally sleep and cover up with duvet (we saw people doing this, so it’s an actual thing there). It’s indeed “The house”. I particularly love the food, it’s African and western at the same time. We ended up sitting outside. The waiters were very polite and we didn’t leave till late at night. The House is perfect for friends hangout, house party, lovers night out, if you love your privacy and like to be alone. A couple came with their kids (I didn’t think that was wise majorly because people were really smoking outside and I particularly felt the kids were too young to be inhaling all that). The only reason I am rating The House 4 star is because the music outside was too loud.
